Lesson 2: Novelty, Innovation, Creativity and Invention

INNOVATION, defines as the improvement from the existance product with new ideas. The video belows is about the I-phone, which changes from a normal cell phone into a multi-functional phone.

NOVELTY, defines as the quality of being new (taken from Wikipedia). The example that I would like to show is the HDR pictures.

HDR or High Dynamic Range is a new technique which is popular among photographers. To create HDR picture, photographer needs to get the images between the lightest and the darkest.

CREATIVITY, defines as the ability to invent new thing. The only thing that can reminds me about creativity is AVATAR, a 3D movie by James Cameron. It is a movie that clearly shows that how creative that James Cameron could be.

Lesson 1: Defining CREATIVITY

I found a very interesting idea from internet and wish to share to everyone.
The artwork is created by Elliot Mariess and her colleauges, a group project on waste.

As shown in the picture, the artists have made use of the plastics spoon and folks to build the skeleton. Why the artists chose to use human skeleton as their reference? The only answer is the skull and skeleton represent death. This picture brings a strong message that our lives will be in danger if we continue to create wastes. It catches viewers' attention easily when look at the artwork, hopefully the viewers are more aware when dealing with wastes.

I choose his face with a smile, to represent that he is a positive guy.
The rays behind his back show that he always give the positive energy to his friends.
He is very friendly and likes to help people to solve their problem, so I hope that the picture above can represent his characteristics.
